Catching up and Moving On

It’s been too long since my last post. We’ve had several great sessions with awesome dance mixes. This Thursday the 23rd will be the last Thursday meeting. Starting Wednesday July 6, we will be meeting on Wednesdays at 8pm. If you would like to DJ one Wednesday in July, please email me at DDPP.PHL[at]gmail[dot]com.

I know it’s been a while since I last posted a play list so I want to catch up on that. I’m sure some DDPP attendees have wondered what we were hearing.

First, going all the way back to May 19, DJ D Griff played a fantastic mix:

On June 26th, I wasn’t there and the play list for that evening is a mystery to me. I hear it was good.
I will update if I find out what it was.

On July 2nd, for better or worse, we heard another mix made by yours truly, DJ Annrockio.
I quite enjoyed it!

On June 9th. Things didn’t materialize. There was no DDPP.

Last week on June 16th, we heard an energetic mix from DJ Anna and it was rockin’ and awesome.
I will update as soon as I find out what all those songs were.

We’ve Been Dancing

This post is a little over due but the last two weeks have been great for Dance Dance Party Party. We’re still going strong and I want to thank everyone for coming out. It’s been a blast. DDPP Philly will continue to meet on Thursdays at 7:15. It looks like we have DJs scheduled for the rest of May. This Week we had our best turn out so far. We had a great mix from DJ UnKempt that had us shakin’ a tail feather. This week’s list included selections spanning the last 60 years with lots of classics.

Success! Dance Dance Party Party is Back

Thanks to everyone who came out for the first week of the return of Dance Dance Party Party. It seemed like everyone had a great time. We must have really been moving because we steamed up the studio windows. We’ll have the fans on next time for some air circulation. I hope everyone plus some new ladies can make it to this week’s Dance Dance Party Party.

Part of the fun of DDPP is that anyone who wants to can take turns as the DJ (play list maker). See: So you Wanna DJ? I believe we already have a DJ for this week, but please email me at DDPP.phl@gmail.com if you want to sign up for any of the following weeks in April or May.

DDPP Philly RETURNS!

Dear Philadelphians, Philadelphites, Philaens, etc.  We are pleased to announce that Dance Dance Party Party will be returning to your great city this spring!  Starting April 7, 2011, you’ll be able to get your dance on every Thursday at 7 p.m. UPDATE: 7:15-8:15, at Major Moment Studio (1624 South St., Philadelphia, PA 19146).

The dance floor goes dark….

Ladies, 

It’s with a heavy heart that I inform you all that after this Thursday (1/7/10), DDPP Philly is no more.  We’ve struggled for a while to get people on the dance floor, but more than that our hectic lives and schedules have made ensuring DDPP be a raging success week after week near impossible.  There will be ONE LAST SESSION this Thursday from 5:30 – 7 pm.  

We have loved dancing with you all over the last couple of years, and it’s our hope that this is merely a temporary hiatus and that at some point DDPP will be reborn.  There is already talk of something starting up in the northwest part of the city that would be DDPP-inspired.  Hopefully you’ll be hearing more about that in the months to come.  You ladies are some of the most inspiring, energetic, and fabulously fun people we’ve ever had the pleasure to share a dance floor with.  Keep shakin’ your money makers all over town, and keep us on the invite list(s) for all those dance parties!

SNOW DAY!
